Transport & clean air

Promote active ways of travelling to school including cycling, walking and public transport and the benefits this has for improving local air quality, health and well-being

Actions you could take:

• Participate in the STARS programme to help your pupils travel to school sustainably, actively and responsibly
• Work with the Council to implement a healthy school street, to close the road your school is on to traffic during drop off and pick up times
• Run an anti-idling campaign to stop cars idling outside your school gates
• Help your pupils learn about cycling proficiency by taking advantage of Camden Council’s free cycling training courses
• Engage staff members to change the way they travel to school to become more sustainable (car-sharing, using public transport, cycling etc.)
